Top NFL Moves Shaping 2024: Who’s Ready to Dominate?

The NFL‘s main offseason roster-building phases have come and gone, and the league is currently in hibernation until training camps begin. While clubs will spend the final weeks of the summer trimming down their rosters, we have a good grasp of how each of them will look once we get to Week 1.

There was a lot of rearranging during the offseason, with some well-known players switching uniforms. Of course, countless moves go on in a given offseason, but a few can impact the upcoming year. That is what we’ll be looking at here.

Chicago Bears: All In with Keenan Allen

The Bears didn’t just dip their toes in the offseason—they cannonballed. Their big move? Snagging wide receiver Keenan Allen from the Chargers. Allen’s a veteran. Reliable. The kind of guy you want catching bombs from your rookie QB. And speaking of QBs, Caleb Williams, the Bears’ No. 1 overall pick, just got the best safety net in the league. Williams + Allen? That’s a duo that screams “playoff run.” Allen should get open a lot, too, given the Bears also have D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze drawing attention from other teams.

Allen’s 2023 Stats:

  • Targets: 150
  • Receptions: 108
  • Yards: 1,243
  • Touchdowns: 7

Think about it. Williams gets a proven weapon and the Bears get a shot at NFC glory. Everyone wins.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Quarterback Roulette

Pittsburgh wasn’t messing around, either, this past offseason. Last season’s QB shuffle was a nightmare. Kenny Pickett’s out. As is Mason Rudolph and Mitch Trubisky. Enter Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, making it an entirely new room of QBs. Wilson brings the experience. Fields brings the flash. Together? They might just bring a Lombardi back to Pittsburgh.

  • Wilson: The veteran with a cannon arm and a clutch gene.
  • Fields: The dual-threat phenom who can turn a broken play into six points.

Steelers fans, this could be your year.

Philadelphia Eagles: Barkley in the Backfield

Philly made significant waves by signing Saquon Barkley this past offseason. Sure, he’s had injuries. But when he’s on, He’s ON. The Eagles’ offensive line is as good as they come, and we already know that Jalen Hurts is a beast with plenty of weapons at his disposal. Add Barkley, and suddenly, Philly’s offense is a nightmare for defenses.

Barkley’s 2023 Stats:

  • Attempts: 247
  • Yards: 962
  • Touchdowns: 6

If Barkley stays healthy, the Eagles aren’t just contenders—they’re favorites.

Kansas City Chiefs: The Rich Get Richer

After winning two Super Bowls in a row, the Chiefs still want more. They bolstered their receiving corps with Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and rookie Xavier Worthy. Speed, agility, and pure playmaking—Mahomes now has toys to play with that remind us of the Tyreek Hill days. And that’s saying something.

Brown’s 2023 Stats:

  • Targets: 101
  • Receptions: 51
  • Yards: 574
  • Touchdowns: 4

A three-peat? It’s not just a dream; it’s a plan.

Houston Texans: Locking Down Both Sides

Houston’s not sitting this one out. They beefed up their defense with Danielle Hunter—a sack machine—and supercharged their offense by trading for Stefon Diggs, a wide receiver who was notorious for boosting those Buffalo Bills odds. C.J. Stroud just got the best Christmas present a QB could ask for; he now has a trio of wide receiver stars to throw to in Nico Collins, Tank Dell, and Diggs. Oh, and Dalton Schultz is a pretty good tight end on top of it.

Hunter’s 2023 Stats:

  • Sacks: 16.5
  • Tackles for Loss: 23

Diggs’ 2023 Stats:

  • Targets: 160
  • Receptions: 107
  • Yards: 1,183
  • Touchdowns: 8

The Texans are eyeing the AFC South crown once again. With these moves, they might just take it.

What’s Next?

The clock’s ticking. Week 1 is just around the corner. The Bears, Steelers, Eagles, Chiefs, and Texans have all made moves that scream “Super Bowl or bust.” Who’s going to rise? Who’s going to stumble? As you prepare for the season, keep an eye on the these storylines and others to see how they all play out.

Stick around—this season’s going to be one for the books.
